Without any materials you won’t be able to get started on crafting items for your new Paleofolk friends. Fret not, as Amber Isle has an abundance of resources you can collect! You'll start off with a pocket size of 12 slots, where each material you collect can stack up to 64 per singular slot.

Need more space for all those extra treasures? You can expand your pocket size to carry even more goodies by playing through the main storyline quests and completing side quests for Molly Tinkertonne.

In order to get started gathering, you will need tools! These won’t take up any of that  inventory space that you will be saving for your adventuring goodies, instead they are found in their very own tool bar. There are four essential tools for outdoor resource gathering: the axe for chopping wood, the pickaxe for collecting rocks, the scythe for gathering leaves, and the shovel for digging up dirt. Don’t forget to also break open garbage to help keep the island clean!

Each tool can be upgraded by one of the following hard-working Paleofolk on the Isle: Nellie is your go-to for upgrading your axe, Chester can use his expertise to upgrade your pickaxe, Flint will be ecstatic to upgrade your scythe, and Barnaby will dig his paws into upgrading your shovel. Tools can be upgraded from basic to good, great, and finally master level. Upgrading your tool will offer you unique advantages when collecting materials and are particularly helpful at breaking more types of resources.
