AMBER ISLE WIKI

BASICS

YOUR SHOP

After accidentally landing yourself in Amber Isle, the local trio convince you to stay as the island's newest shopkeeper! Good thing you're on your Paleoventure!

The shop is yours to name, customise and run exactly how you want. You will have creative freedom to change the shop’s counters, walls, floors and even décor to create the best environment for selling your crafts. Stock your displays with your newly crafted goods and use different sized displays to display different sized items. Tip: Items displayed by the window will fetch a higher price.

Some décor items will be of assistance while you’re busy managing your stock and tending to customers. How so? For instance, some décor items will help keep your shop clean and or encourage Paleofolk to buy certain items when placed next to these.
But with more visitors comes more responsibility... Paleofolk love a clean shop and they will leave a tip for the pleasure of shopping in a squeaky-clean environment. A messy shop, on the other hand, will test their patience, making them less likely to make a purchase. Keep your cleaning tools handy and stay on top of those pesky footprints and dusty displays to ensure you keep those sales rolling in!

Setting prices is part of being a successful shopkeeper, be sure to set your prices before you open the doors, because once they’re open, there’s no changing them! The choice is yours to price your items as you deem fit whether that is high, low, or somewhere in between. Opting for a lower price can help you build friendships quicker with your Paleofolk customers, while a higher price will boost your Amber earnings which can later aid in improving the shop or the island. Just be ready to haggle if your customers think your prices are a bit on the steep side! There’s no wrong choice here, just remember that different strategies will bring different rewards.

HAGGLING

On Amber Isle, if a Paleofolk loves an item but isn’t yet convinced on the price, then it’s time to haggle!

You and the customer may go back and forth until you agree on a price. If your price is too high, the customer will counter-haggle. Aim to balance maximising your profit or friendship with each sale. After closing a deal, you’ll see how much Amber you made and how your friendship with the customer has grown. Lower prices can boost your friendship, while higher prices increase your profit. Both can be useful and how you choose to run your shop is entirely up to you!

RECOMMENDING ITEMS

Sometimes, customers will need your help when shopping and will ask for a recommendation. Pay close attention to their preferences, as each Paleofolk tends to favour specific types of items. For example, a lumberer will likely ask for wood items, while a rockstar will seek out musician-related items. To make a successful recommendation, ensure you have the item crafted and stocked in advance. The more you learn about your customers’ likes and predict their needs, the better prepared you will be with crafted items ready to be sold as recommendations! Successfully suggesting the perfect item not only earns you extra Amber but also strengthens your bond with your customers.

CUSTOM ORDERS

Customers may request specific items for pickup in a few days time, offering you a chance to earn extra Amber and build a stronger friendship. Be mindful of deadlines and ensure you fulfil their requests accurately to make a great impression. Missed a deadline? Not fulfilling your custom orders will mean you miss out on these rewards but you will not lose friendship points with the Palefolk. Keep your customers happy and meet their needs to make the most of these opportunities!

PAWNING

Now it’s your turn to do the buying! Customers will occasionally offer selling their own items to you. Once purchased, these pre-loved items can be sold in your shop, saving you from some crafting. To make a good profit, aim to buy low to ensure a profit when you resell the item yourself. Once again, a little back-and-forth haggling can help you strike the right balance.

SHOP SIZE AND RANKING

Running out of display space for all your stock? Worry not! You will be able to upgrade and expand your shop, giving you more space for additional displays and a wider variety of items to showcase to your customers.

As you decorate and earn upgrades via Mayor Clawsworth, your shop ranking will increase. Expanding and climbing up the shop rankings will not only increase the number of customers able to visit your shop but will also unlock new customisation options, exclusive perks, and better ways to show off your interior design skills. This means brand new selections of wallpapers, floors, lighting fixtures and more!
